"best" type of caps & resistors to use ??

hello, jerry i want your opinion on what type of caps and resistors to use when i start changing out parts for my up-grade what i mean is for Electrolytic power filter caps. what brand sound the best if that make a difference? and also for coupling caps too? and for resistor i mean ( carbon comp. or metal film)I'm going to change out these parts in the tone circuit both clean and dirty channel as i been told this is the area that makes the most changes as far as tone? any input would be great!!
