My classic 100 has a great clean -- but I have little if any use for that...I need heavier distortion
I'm playing a Visual Sound Route 66 and a Les paul into it now...forget my strat with Texas Specials. Even with the gain all the way up the guitar sounds very tiny and weak.
what I want is gain -- the amp sounded great when I bought it for classic rock, heavy blues, hard rock type stuff...but now the distortion is very brittle now. I want more warmth, depth, and above all, more distortion out of it out of it...Marshall type tone without having to buy a marshall JCM 2000 for well, $2000
I'm buying a 5150 this weak (after an extensive amp search) so I've got the heavy stuff I play pegged with that...but I don't want the Classic 100 do be worthless. Especially when it used to have the potential for stuff like Zep, Hendrix, SRV, Deep Purple, even country, etc...essentially I want to use it for stuff that the 5150 is less siuted to
Anyway, any suggestions guys? Thanks, Chris

Thanks, Chris Hi Chris, I'm sure there's some things I can do to the Classic 100 to add gain to it and make it not as brittle. Email me at FJAMods@aol.com if you'd like to discuss the options for that amp. Jerry
